Chef Cesar

After graduating from the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas, Chef Cesar took his passion for cooking from the bustling streets of Manhattan to the glitz of the Las Vegas Strip before finding his forever culinary home on Prince Edward Island. In 2014, he opened The Lady’s Slipper in the Down East Mall in Montague, a beloved destination for home-style cooking that quickly became a community favorite. For a decade, Cesar poured his heart into every plate, building a reputation for warm hospitality and unforgettable flavors. In March 2024, he made the surprising decision to sell The Lady’s Slipper. It was not a step away from cooking but a step toward a different pace of life that allowed more time with the people he loves most.

With Wood Islands Café Express, Cesar blends the freedom of mobile dining with the same heart, heat, and flavor that made his earlier kitchens so memorable. Serving ferry travelers, beachgoers, and locals alike, his menu is a love letter to PEI’s coastal bounty, seasoned with Latin soul and a dash of adventure. From crispy panko-battered fish to signature rice bowls crowned with sweet plantains, every dish tells the story of a chef who never stopped chasing flavor, he simply found a new way to share it.
